These terms govern your use of Riffie, a voice-first AI companion app for iOS. By using Riffie, you agree to these terms.
Riffie is operated by Zeb Dropkin ("we", "us", "our").
Riffie lets you have voice conversations with AI. You speak, Riffie transcribes your speech on-device, sends the text to an AI provider for a response, and plays back that response as audio. Full conversation text is stored locally on your device.
Riffie requires an internet connection and relies on third-party AI services (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) and text-to-speech services (Inworld AI) to function.
Riffie is intended for users aged 17 and older. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
You own your content. Your voice input, transcribed text, and conversation history belong to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over your conversations.
By using Riffie, you grant us a limited right to transmit your conversation text to third-party AI and text-to-speech providers solely to provide the service. We do not store your conversation content on our servers.
You are responsible for the content of your conversations. You agree not to use Riffie to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the acceptable use policies of the underlying AI providers.
AI responses are generated by third-party language models. This content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You should not rely on AI responses as professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).
We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any AI-generated content. You use AI responses at your own discretion and risk.
Riffie offers a free tier (Lite) with limited usage and paid subscription tiers with higher usage limits. All features are available on every tier. The difference is weekly usage budget.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Changes apply to new subscriptions and renewals after the change takes effect, not to your current billing period.
Each subscription tier has a weekly usage budget based on the cost of AI and text-to-speech processing for your requests. When your budget is reached, you will not be able to start new conversations until the budget resets at the start of the next week (Monday UTC).
Usage limits exist to keep the service sustainable. We may adjust tier budgets as costs and usage patterns evolve.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
We aim to keep Riffie available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app depends on third-party AI and TTS providers, which may experience outages, rate limits, or changes outside our control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riffie and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Riffie in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50, whichever is greater.
Riffie, its design, code, and branding are owned by us. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the app as intended.
Your use of Riffie is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Riffie after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we will provide notice within the app.
You can stop using Riffie at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms.
On termination, your local data remains on your device until you delete it. Your usage metrics expire automatically after 90 days.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
